ABOUT THE POSITION:


This is a professional managerial position reporting to a Campus Academic Dean. The Program Director oversees the development, implementation and promotion of a RN to BSN Program. Work requires the analysis of complex problems, planning of various interrelated activities, and the coordination of effort of multiple projects or functions, in addition to formulating and maintaining programmatic budgets.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:



  • Develop the curriculum framework and all instructional materials for the program.

  • Disseminates program information to appropriate college recipients (administrators, advisors, faculty, and program students) and appropriate recipients outside the college (accreditation or certifications agencies, state agencies, etc.).

  • Assemble and compile all materials required for accreditation or certification of the program.

  • Evaluate the preparation of students for entry into the program and administer all aspects of the selection process if a limited access program.

  • Supervise adjunct and full time faculty employed by the program.

  • Coordinate practicums, clinicals, internships, joint ventures and/or work-related educational experiences for program students.

  • Monitor program adherence to state regulations/national accreditation criteria.

This position is a level P16. Please review the Polk State College Salary Schedule here to ensure our pay ranges are within your compensation expectations. Generally, for exempt positions starting salaries are between the minimum and the midpoint (benchmark). For Career (non-exempt positions), it is between a Step 0 and a Step 5 on the appropriate level.

Job Requirements


Education, training, experience:
Required Skills

  1. Knowledge of principles and practices of professional training and development program design.

  2. Knowledge of curriculum development, instructional method theory, and practical applications.

  3. Ability to communicate orally and in writing with a variety of contacts of considerable importance within, and outside of, the college. Contacts outside the college where lack of tact or judgment may result in negative college relations to a limited degree.

  4. Ability to work independently with the responsibility for planning details and methods to obtain definite objectives and to make decisions within broad limitations of policy and professional standards.

  5. Ability to work cooperatively with college personnel.

  6. Excellent written and oral communications skills.



REQUIRED EDUCATION:



Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university with a Doctorate degree in Nursing or related field and Masters degree in Nursing required.


Experience Required


Five (5) years’ experience in nursing practice and professional nursing education experience at the Bachelor’s Degree level. Eligibility for all required licensures required.



Preferred Experience:



Two (2) years of experience in nursing education, perferrably at the baccalaureate level, and at least three (3) years in clinical practice. Eligibility for all required licensures required. Other experience as required by the related accreditation agency.
